Rules and Regulations

AMA Charter #4648

Membership

  1. All flying members must be a current member of the A.M.A.

  2. Full membership shall be limited to adults 18 years or older

  3. Family membership will consist of a full member and all flyers living in that household under the age of 18.

  4. Junior membership is for those 18 years and under who are not a Family member

Dues Structure

  1. Full members shall pay dues as established by the voting membership

  2. Family dues will be 1 full membership plus 1 junior membership

  3. Junior dues shall be no more than adult dues rounded off to the next dollar

  Voting Rights

  1. Voting privileges are limited to full members only

  2. The majority of members present, no proxy votes, shall decide all voting matters.

  3. No proxy votes will be allowed.

 Meetings & Elections

  1. Meetings shall be held once a month on a day and time to be determined by the membership, supplemental meetings may be called by at least 2 officers, notices for these meetings must be in writing and mailed to the members at least 10 days prior to such special meeting., they may also be called by e-mail

  2. Election for officers shall be held at the November meeting. Nominations for officers shall at the October meeting; nominations may also be accepted at the November meeting prior to the election.

  3. A nominating committee shall be established prior to the October meeting to find candidates for the club officers.

Officers

  1. Officers of the club shall consist of (at the minimum) a President, Secretary/ treasurer and a safety officer. (A.M.A. minimums)

  2. More officers may be created as needed and nominated and elected at any general meeting.

  3. All officers duties shall be as in the A.M.A. officer guidelines.

 Flying Rules

  1. All flying shall be in accordance with A.M.A. safety rules, as shown on the back of your AMA membership application.

  2. A safety line shall be established at the field to separate the pit area from the flight line.

  3. A safety line shall also be established to separate the pit area from the spectator area.

  4. Barriers shall be erected to protect pilot stations from errant aircraft.

  5. It is recommended that all pilots have an observer/caller to keep track of any other aircraft flying or landing/taking off.

  6. Any non-member pilot will be allowed to fly there for a period not to exceed one month provided that they have a valid current AMA membership.

  7. Decisions of the club officials shall be final and binding while at the flying site. The ruling may be appealed at the next general meeting. Unsafe flying will not be tolerated.

  8. All flying shall be on the side of the field opposite the pit/spectator area and the pilot stations, exception flying over the field south of the runway is allowed- you must cross into it from the west end of the runway, no flying over people to get there is allowed.

  9. All AMA safety rules are in effect at the flying site at all times.

As an AMA chartered club to continue the growth and spirit of the club we abide by all AMA rules and regs.
